"Pictures Plus has been my go to frame shop the past 30 years. I could always rely on their friendly and quality service whenever I needed artwork framed. I get custom mat boards made there too to fit prints that don't fit in standard sizes. I live on the leeward side so I am happy they opened a Kapolei store at Ka Makana - a convenient location."
"Overall: I know there are a handful of picture framing shops around Oahu, and I cannot speak to most of them. BUT I can tell you that if you want the BEST quality service, with employees that have an eye for frame/mat/image color coordination, where you will be left 100% happy with the product, then Pictures Plus Kakaako the place to go.
Experience: We went in, on two separate occasions. The most recent, we had some old images, some with broken frames, some rolled up, and a couple where the previous frame/mat combo made the otherwise beautiful image washed out and unpleasant.
Staff: Kirsti was the team member that helped us and was friendly, helpful and fantastic! For every image, she made sure she understood what we were looking for, and examined the image to help suggest what might look best. She never tried to upsell us or drive us in a direction that we didn't want to go. Every suggestion she made was helpful and welcomed. By the end we just straight up asked her what she thought, and we went from there.
Price: You can find their pricing online and request quotes (though better to just go in person). It is not "cheap". However, you get what you pay for. If you can mat and frame your own painting/photo/art and don't want to spend much, then buy your own frame and do so. But if you want quality craftsmanship that will last a long time, then you are going to need to pay for it.
Bottom Line: This is the only place we will trust for the items we want to last. You won't be dissatisfied. We are already looking ahead to what we need to take there next."

"I called the store when I needed to frame a BIG painting and spoke to the manager Tristan. Super friendly guy and made me feel welcome so I visited a week later with my artwork. The Kahala store is well lit and very clean so you feel confident about leaving your work to professionals.
