The image is first printed onto a transfer sheet, then heat and pressure are applied to turn the inks into a gas that infuses directly into the coated surface of an aluminum panel. Because the image becomes part of the metal rather than sitting on top of it, the result is a vivid, sharp, and extremely long-lasting print. At Pictures Plus, this is done on USA-made ChromaLuxe aluminum at our Kapolei, Hawaii facility.

Do metal prints need a frame?

No. Metal prints are designed to be displayed frameless for a clean, modern look. Our ready-to-hang options — eyelets, wire, and sawtooth — use a float mount that holds the print slightly off the wall for a contemporary floating effect. Easel back and wood display block offer freestanding tabletop display, and framing is available as an optional finish if you prefer a traditional presentation.

How do I clean and care for a metal print?

Metal prints are effortless to maintain. Because the surface is water-resistant and non-porous, you can simply wipe it with a soft, dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents. The infused image will not smear, peel, or yellow over time.

Can metal prints be shipped?

Yes. Metal prints up to 60″ × 30″ can be shipped. Prints larger than this are available for local pickup or delivery from our Kapolei, Hawaii location, which is not subject to the shipping size limit. You can estimate shipping costs on the order page before checkout.
