Supporting Local Athletes Through Custom Memorabilia
Senior Night represents more than a final game. It reflects years of dedication, growth, friendships, and memories built both on and off the field. For the graduating seniors of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Rainbow Wahinesoftball team, Pictures Plus had the opportunity to help preserve those memories through seven custom shadowboxes created specifically for the occasion.
Rooted in a passion for supporting Hawaiʻi’s local sports community, Pictures Plus owner Kent has always valued giving back to student athletes — a connection shaped by his own background in sports. That passion continues to influence the company’s growing relationship with UH athletics and its mission to help preserve meaningful athletic milestones through custom memorabilia and framing.
Each piece was thoughtfully created to preserve the memories and milestones behind every athlete’s journey.

Designing the Shadowboxes

Every shadowbox began as a collaborative process centered around the athletes and their memories from the program.
From carefully sizing and positioning each jersey to building custom layout templates, every design choice was thoughtfully considered to create a balanced and meaningful final piece. The team worked closely together to explore different design directions, select photos and elements that best represented each athlete, and refine the overall composition before moving into production. The result was a personalized design process that helped transform each uniform into a one-of-a-kind keepsake.
Once the final designs were selected, the project transitioned from concept to craftsmanship. Each jersey was carefully hand stitched into custom matting designed specifically for the display, allowing every piece to feel both secure and visually balanced. From layout placement to material selection, each detail was thoughtfully considered throughout the process.
The shadowboxes were then assembled in the Pictures Plus production facility in Kapolei, where the handcrafted wooden frames and final displays were carefully built together in-house. From design to production, every element of the project was locally made — transforming each jersey into a lasting keepsake that reflected the memories and milestones behind the season.
From Uniform to Keepsake

Once assembled, each shadowbox became more than a way to display a uniform. Every piece was carefully crafted to preserve the memories, dedication, and experiences tied to the athletes’ time on the field.
For many graduating athletes, Senior Night represents the closing of an important chapter. By transforming their uniforms into personalized keepsakes, these moments were turned into something tangible that athletes and their families can continue to hold onto and reflect on for years to come.
Supporting Local Athletes Through Community

From the initial design discussions to the final handcrafted shadowboxes, every step of the process was rooted in celebrating the athletes and the community surrounding them. Projects like these become more than custom pieces — they are a way to honor the dedication, relationships, and memories built throughout the years.
Supporting local athletes means supporting the families, schools, and communities that help shape their journey. By creating keepsakes that preserve these moments, the hope is to continue uplifting and celebrating Hawaiʻi’s local community both on and off the field.
